Happiness comes from within and it cannot be bought. The term “bigger and better” doesn’t bring happiness in our life. On the contrary, it brings enormous debts, innumerable worries, and stress. Our society is materialistic and revolves around greed where it literally pushes people for wanting more. A person’s success is defined but what they can afford to buy material possessions. We’re spending our time and money on buying jewelry, expensive wardrobes, bigger house, paying for a lavish wedding, or buying the latest smart phones and things that other people are buying, etc.. Stop right there!! Do you realize you’re not enjoying your life and you’re wasting it away on things that doesn’t matter. It is time for us to stop pleasing the big companies by not falling into the consumer culture: buying things we don’t really need. Instead, let’s strive to live a simple life. We will find happiness in simplicity as we will experience sufficiency and start appreciating what we have: love, family, friendship, nature, health, small pleasures, etc. Simplicity take away all the complications and stress as it will provide us with more freedom and clutter-free existence.
Shine your light and brighten someone’s world.
What is the fascination with celebrities? What is the obsession? Other than making more money than they should, I see no reason why we should even care what celebrities do. In fact, that is the main focus point of this blog.
Day after day, and hour after hour, we are force fed the insignificant facts and rumors about celebrities. Who they are dating, who they are not dating. I find no reason why I should even care if some has been celebrity is now married to some slacker loser who can’t even get a job. Where are the pictures of the homeless, the hungry family, and the mother selling her soul for food for her kids?
But they are famous you say. Who the hell cares? If an actor or actress makes a good movie, then good for them. They are just regurgitating lines written by someone else, under the direction of someone else. If a singer makes a hit song, chances are someone else wrote it. If the singer did write the song, then everyone has to analyze it and imprint their own views as to why the song was written when chances are we may never know.
Celebrities are OVER paid. Military soldiers who live and die for us everyday get paid far less then they deserve. Police Officers and Fireman are also underpaid for what they do. Yet, we sit idly by while a Celebrity can make millions for under one year of work. I understand that Celebrity Athletes can have careers that last for less than ten years and that they need to make their money quick or they might not make it at all, however, millions a year.
We have been told time after time that we have to pay so much for DVD’s and CD’s because everyone involved in making the movie or song has to be paid. I may not be the most intelligent person in the world, but what would happen if instead of paying the lead actor, actress, artist or athlete millions upon millions for one project, you cut their pay to under one million. Then the extra money could be spread out to the other people involved in the project. The savings could be passed onto the consumer who may then buy more quantities of various products.
I am not suggesting a Communist state where everyone gets paid equally I only suggest that people get paid what they are actually worth. NO person is worth more than a million or more a year. Get real. If the actor is good, hire him again, if not hire someone else. There are thousands of out of work actors and actresses that would love to have a chance to make it big. Celebrities are people, nothing more and nothing less.
That’s exactly how I feel every Monday.

Try not to fall into the false existence where you place value in things that have no value
Try to share your love and kindness to others even to strangers
Try to live a life full of humbleness, compassion and equanimity
Let’s admit it, we are very judgmental when it comes to what a person wears. What you are is nothing but what you wear. You are judged by your attire. But how can we judge a person by the clothes he’s wearing? Do the clothes tell you about a person’s personality, wisdom, character or his way of thinking and feeling? Appearances are often deceptive as there are many people who put up good face and attire to make themselves appear superior however they are dead on the inside. On the other hand, there are people who has no proper dress to wear possess inner richness.
We are brought into this world being innocent and compassionate; but, as we know, life happens.
On daily basis I get absorbed by my personal problems not appreciating what I have while some innocent people out there are getting killed in the name of religion or politics or for any other lame reason, I don’t know how this makes me feel. I don’t know if I should feel sad and sit there idle lamenting the current atrocities and brutalities of the world or move on with my life and try to be more of a positive existence in my own immediate life reflected on others around me.
Until seeing someone’s darkness, you don’t really know who they are. Until forgiving someone’s darkness, you don’t really know what love is.
Being a woman means getting raped when you say “NO” to him
Being a woman means getting stalked everywhere because he finds you pretty
Being a woman means he can hit you whenever he’s angry or drunk
Being a woman means getting paid less than men even if you are more qualified
Being a woman means hearing horrible car honks/nasty swears every time he thinks you’re wearing sexy outfits
Being a woman means you have too many stories to tell
