I have an obsession with chocolate and red wine

I’m very stubborn and won’t budge for anything in the world

stubborn

I’m pretty much impulsive.

I keep a red notepad by my bed for my writings and scribbles

You’re Breaking My Heart

Standard

You’re breaking my heart when I see

Your beautiful smile bents out of shape

You don’t look at me when I ask you “how are you”

But I don’t need your fake smile to know

There is a war waging inside you

And the world has collapsed on you

I can’t make you laugh anymore

All I want to do is making you feel loved

Just grab my hand and let me pull you

From that cliff that you have been standing on for so long

Don’t you know that I will run through fire for you?

Together, we will fight your demons

Just open up to me, don’t be afraid

It doesn’t matter how many time you will trip and fall

I will be there for you to pick you up

And to wipe every tear

You are not alone, I will always be there for you

Just let me be the key to your lock

I wish you could see yourself through my eyes

(This poem is dedicated to someone dear to me who’s suffering from depression)

Letters

Standard

Dear old self, you’re dead to me and I won’t mourn your passing

Dear current self, you are a fighter and from the ashes you shall always rise

Dear mom, it’s time for you to stop worrying about me it’s my turn now

Dear Nelly, can I be your angel to always guide your path

Dear mind, why don’t you set me free as I don’t need these memories, it’s time to move ahead

Dear heart, I won’t let you play with the strings of my mind anymore

Dear luck, you never was a friend of mine but I learned to survive without you

Dear salary why don’t you stay with me until the end of the month?

(This post is inspired by one of the challenges of OctPoWriMo 2015, http://www.octpowrimo.com/2015/10/oh-dear.html though I am not participating in OctPoWriMo 2015 I really loved this particular challenge which inspired me to write this post)

Still I Rise

Standard

This is one of my favorite poem by the great Maya Angelou

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
