Run

Standard

I need to run
I need to hide
I have to find out what’s locked up inside.
To see the truth beneath the cover
Unlock the secrets
That have been there forever.
To release the stress that has been ingrained
To reduce the power of those who have so long reined.
Alone I must run away from this place
And this shall be my saving grace

Why the world doesn’t want you to be happy

Standard

I’m going to share with you a snippet of Matt Haig book’s “Reasons to stay alive”, this is very thought provoking about how the world manipulate our minds, I would like to know your opinions about this matter.

The world is increasingly designed to depress us. Happiness isn’t very good for the economy. If we were happy with what we had, why would we need more? How do you sell an anti-ageing moisturizer? You make someone worry about ageing. How do you get people to vote for a political party? You make them worry about immigration. How do you get them to buy insurance? By making them worry about everything. How do you get them to have plastic surgery? By highlighting their physical flaws. How do you get them to watch a TV show? By making them worry about missing out. How do you get them to buy a new smartphone? By making them feel like they are being left behind. To be calm becomes a kind of revolutionary act. To be happy with your own non-upgraded existence. To be comfortable with our messy, human selves, would not be good for business.

Wake your mind

Standard

Do you believe  in what you believe in because it’s what you’re always been taught, or because you’ve searched and tried it for yourself?

Are you living your life, or are you living out everyone else collective thoughts and beliefs? Have you ever truly met and embraced your true self, or are you living out everyone’s opinion of you?

Apology

Standard

Is an apology acceptable or genuine when a person:

  • Apologizes to prevent themselves being punished

  • Keep doing what they apologize for

Apologizes that are not backed up with actions really means nothing. Nominal apologizes in name only gives the person who’s saying it a sense of relief but does nothing for the person you’re apologizing to. Empty words should not be used loosely especially when they affect the way others feel and the outcome of situations and resolving differences… words not meant are better left unsaid

Healthy

Standard

I just don’t understand why people will waste their money on frivolous items like expensive handbags, shoes, or clothes or who knows what else….but refuse to spend money on their health.

People are so gung-ho about getting healthy until they have to cough up a little extra money for it. You have no problem spending money on that name brand purse, those expensive shoes…or better yet….spending money on going out to eat, or stopping at Starbucks every morning for that “perfect coffee”, but the moment something is offered to you that will improve your health…you want nothing to do with it. You go silent.

Investing a little extra money in your health now is a hell of a lot cheaper in those medical bills you could have later on. That name brand hand bag or those expensive shoes are NOT going to prevent things like heart disease, diabetes, etc.

Furthermore, when someone offers you something that could potentially change your life, don’t be resistant to it! Just open your mind!

Why I don’t use Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat

Standard

It makes me sad how we’ve become so attached to technology. I see people everywhere taking pictures while having their face engrossed in their phones when the sun is shining and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. No one ever experiences the moment anymore. Everything is going be posted somewhere for someone to see because people measure their value based on “likes”. This is part of the reason I don’t have a Facebook,  Instagram  or Snapchat accounts because I don’t want to lose my sense of living every moment to its fullest. I don’t want to ignore my parents, friends or significant other solely because I’m looking to see who commented/liked my stuff. My brain is perfectly capable of retaining memories and the essence of life is the acquisition of memories. I don’t want to look back when I’m old and have to look at my phone to see what I did when I was young. I want to live it! I was born blessed with all of my senses. Why not use them.

Pain

Standard

People don’t want to experience any hurt after a hardship. When really that’s all part of the process. You have to feel hurt and heal in order to become the new you that you want to be! You’re like a wound after you’ve experienced something traumatizing. You have to hurt, you have to clean it, and keep up with it daily. You have to scab over and then you heal. You’ll always have a scar to remind you of what you’ve been through, but that’s a part of what make you: You.pain
