A Kind Reminder: Humanity

Standard

Most of us have very busy lives, but let us not forget that there are human beings on this Earth that are struggling to live.

As you are eating your lunch, keep in mind those who are starving. As you put your child to sleep, think of the parents who are crying and wishing to see their children awake again. As you sit peacefully in your house, think of the fear and horror that are conquering the hearts of families as they hear bombs showering above their roof.

Yes, they live on the other side of the planet, but don’t let that distance your heart from having compassion with the struggles of your brothers and sisters. Don’t let the difference in religion, race, or ethnicity build a barrier between you and others. We are all humans.

Opinions

Standard

I’ll start this by saying I am a VERY opinionated person and a vocal one at that!

Opinions are who we are, our morals, values and beliefs…..

Opinions are what make the world an interesting place. A world without different opinions would be a boring place….

Opinions are what make us who we are as an individual. They are based off things we have learned since day one, they are based off beliefs we have and the morals and values we stand on. It’s sad that our opinions are also 90% of the reason why we fight and treat others like crap. They are the number one reason why people make fun of others and find reasons to break someone’s spirit. It’s sad that we can’t just live knowing that you won’t always agree with someone but that is okay. It’s sad that people can’t agree to disagree and move on instead they feel the need to make fun, call names and belittle one another. I wonder if for one day you chose to allow others to have their point of view and you have yours and it still be okay if you’d realize how much happier you would be.

Perfectly Imperfect

Standard

In a world full of imperfections find the beauty in mistakes, trials, and hard times. You are not a bad person because of mistakes you’ve made in the past. You are not broken because of tough things you’ve been through. You are perfectly imperfect, that’s what makes you human. Seeing through someone’s imperfections and loving one another (not just romantically but in any aspect) that’s the difference between being a negative person and a positive one. There are so many positive things that come from the negative parts of life. Embrace every aspect of life and love one another. There’s nothing more respectable than loving someone for who they are no matter where they’ve been or what they’ve gone through. Everyone needs to know they mean something to someone

As Women

Standard

As women, we need to embrace what makes us individuals. All of it! Including our wrinkles, and asymmetrical features! If a “powerful man is an individual” and “his maturity is part of his power”—- women need to embrace their individuality to be truly powerful as well. Screw sexism and unequal distribution of power. Maturity symbolizes experiences, wisdom and change. It should NOT symbolize “losing” feminity or power. When I see an older woman, I see experiences and stories NOT a lack of beauty or power.

Closed Doors

Standard

We close the door to the past and put the key in a safe place. Every so often we find ourselves revisiting the steps of that broken, rusty, dusty door hoping to find what use to be on the other side. What was once always there is now gone but hope is not lost. What we don’t realize is that what use to be our world will soon be replaced by a greater version then what we had. Replaced with something we can’t even start to dream of. The odd thing about all this is once we have it in our lives we can’t see ourselves without it even though we once never had it at all. A wise man once said; “Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end”.
