Quote of the Week: The best day of your life
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours. It is an amazing journey, and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins. — Bob Moawad

Here But Gone Away
When he looked in the mirror
He had not a clue
That the old wrinkled up man
Was really him
I sit next to him and watch his expression closely.
Somewhere inside his life is living again
And sometimes he sheds a tear or two
When a slight memory comes to his mind
I can tell when he remembers his mother
his eyes soften, glistening from the hove he still feels after all these years
“Don’t leave me, I know you
My heart knows you I don’t
My heart loves you I’m sure
I just don’t know your name” I can read those words sometimes in his eyes
But lately his eyes are full of void
It’s like watching the sunset.
Last soothing light before darkness takes over and it gets cold
(September is world Alzheimer’s awareness month, Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. I have an uncle who suffers from it, and some of my friends and acquaintances have a relative who suffer from it)

One day it will make sense
And then one day it all makes sense…the times where there was doubt, the times of uncertainty…the times of pain. Because one day you figure it out, what makes you tick, what drives you and what you truly want from life. And then you let go of all that holds you back. You stop giving the power to others and make a decision. That now is your time.
One day it all makes sense and you commit to live the life you deserve!

The sky and you
when the sky is on fire
when blue clouds serenade the mountains
when rain clouds send raindrops falling
when the rainbow arches over the sky
in a myriad of colors
I see you in all the hues of the sky

Quote of the Week: Is this all you want in life?
“The culture doesn’t encourage you to think about such things until you’re about to die. We’re so wrapped up with egostical things, career, family, having enough money, meeting the mortgage, getting a new car, fixing the radiator when it breaks. We’re involved in trillions of little acts just to keep going . So we don’t get into the habit of standing back and looking at our lives and saying, Is this all? Is this all I want? Is something missing?”-Morrie Schwartzt

Life: Sugar and Salt
Everything has a reason of happening and a purpose. Sometimes we question too much and miss the whole point. Things might seem harsh at some times, but I guess sometimes we deserve it, for it to better us. Taking an example of salt and sugar, salt might be sour/bitter to your tongue when taken raw with nothing else. But the same salt added to something else, it gives it taste and it brings out the sweetness. Same with life, we might be having a salt experience and we think we’re unlucky, little do we know that the same experience makes us better. Just hanging on, and we’re on a different level altogether.
Sugar, on the other hand, is sweet. But the same sugar added to some other things makes it worse. Kill the taste.
Appreciate every moment. Because no matter how good or bad a situation is, it either makes us better for the right reason or otherwise.

A forever young and free heart
I’m flying to the moon
Where love cannot find me
Where my heart will remain
forever young and free
In the light of shimmering glee
