I’m Like a Butterfly

To love me is like catching a butterfly

That is always able of flying and escaping

You can’t cage me

Or own me or have me

I always fly

I always leave

From birth to age of old

The world begins tearing your soul

Society brands and seers your flesh

From birth to age of old

The challenge is to find yourself

As Women

As women, we need to embrace what makes us individuals. All of it! Including our wrinkles, and asymmetrical features! If a “powerful man is an individual” and “his maturity is part of his power”—- women need to embrace their individuality to be truly powerful as well. Screw sexism and unequal distribution of power. Maturity symbolizes experiences, wisdom and change. It should NOT symbolize “losing” feminity or power. When I see an older woman, I see experiences and stories NOT a lack of beauty or power.
